Matt Elliott wears many hats – he serves as the Michigan market president and as the global commercial banking market executive for Michigan, Ohio and Indiana for Bank of America; he is a board member at the Detroit Zoo; son, husband and dad to two teenage kids.
As market president for the state, Matt is Bank of America’s leader in Michigan. It’s a role he takes very seriously and is proud to represent the brand and mission for his teammates. With the support of the Michigan Leadership Team, Matt leads more than 2,500 employees and guides the bank’s charitable giving, community development lending and investing in the state. As the bank’s enterprise leader in Michigan, he works with other Bank of America leaders to deliver the bank’s full range of financial services to more individuals and businesses, as well as deepen relationships with existing customers.

Elliott’s career came full circle before becoming Michigan Market President. He was with LaSalle Bank for several years but left shortly after Bank of America acquired LaSalle to work for an Auburn Hills -based marketing agency. Matt returned to banking in 2010, when he was recruited back by the bank to lead middle market commercial banking in Michigan. He was named state president in the fall of 2012.
A Michigan native – he graduated with high honors from Michigan State University – Matt believes in the state economy’s potential for growth. “Our success is tied to the success and health of our communities," Elliott said. “As a financial institution, our philanthropic investments support our company’s purpose to improve the financial lives of the customers, clients and communities we serve.”
