Since 2004, our Student Leaders® program has helped prepare high school students for the workforce by connecting them to skills development and leadership training. Through paid internships with local nonprofits like The Harrelson Center, they gain practical work and life experiences. It's just one more way we're working to build a better future for all.

We're always looking for ways to support people's choices in the communities we serve. That's why Bank of America is adding charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) to over 90 financial centers nationwide. For our customers who are interested, we have financing for EVs and charging accessories. And we're also supporting the choices our teammates make with employee rebates on EVs.

Bank of America wants to ensure everyone shares in the success of our region. We’re focused on working with nonprofits to address hunger and homelessness and help our neighbors get what they need. We support a number of programs aimed at underserved communities to assist with affordable housing and workforce development. We’re committed to overcoming generational poverty and breaking down the barriers people face in finding viable, well-paid careers. Our employment support includes an internship program for high school students that creates new pathways to employment and teaches key life skills. We also provide funds for up-skilling initiatives focusing on racially diverse communities and the formerly incarcerated. We found ways to assist working parents during the health crisis by supporting a local nonprofit that pivoted from its normal after-school activities to providing full-time childcare when schools were closed. Whatever the challenges, we remain steadfast in supporting our community.
The Northside of downtown Wilmington, NC has faced some tough times, including high rates of youth violence compounded by persistent poverty. To combat both, Voyage, a nonprofit that was founded in 2008 as the Blue Ribbon Commission on the Prevention of Youth Violence, offers a summer training, internship and employment program to local high school students. The program is designed to start and keep students on a career path by surrounding them with counselors and mentors.
At Bank of America, we’re committed to addressing the root causes of inequality through a company-wide commitment to advancing racial equality and economic opportunity across diverse communities. We are doing this by building upon our existing efforts and leveraging our strengths: creating more affordable housing and expanding home ownership, increasing lending and support to minority-owned small businesses, championing job training and career readiness and addressing health disparities like access to care. We also know we can’t solve these challenges alone, so we’re partnering with other corporations, local nonprofits and community leaders across the country who share our vision for creating meaningful change.
At Bank of America, we believe in the power of the arts to help economies thrive, educate and enrich societies, and create greater cultural understanding. That’s why we’re helping the arts flourish in communities across the globe.
