Hear from Terry Cline, President of Bank of America Knoxville, about our role in keeping Knoxville moving forward.
As Knoxville continues to grow and attract new business activity, Bank of America is focused on driving economic mobility throughout its neighborhoods. This commitment encompasses charitable giving, collaboration with economic development partners and providing financial literacy education that together build pathways to enriching employment opportunities for members of our local communities.
Our dedication to advancing racial equality and economic opportunity is also expressed through our support of organizations, which provide culturally sensitive access to affordable housing, food security and mental health resources for underserved communities within our service areas.
For the past 15 years, Centro Hispano de East Tennessee has opened its doors to Hispanic-Latino families in Knoxville, where many face challenges ranging from education gaps to childcare and transportation needs. More than just a community center, Centro Hispano seeks to empower the city’s Hispanic-Latino population through education, workforce development, youth programs and small business assistance — and its mission has never been more vital. Over the next five years, Knoxville’s Hispanic-Latino population is expected to grow by more than 20%.
At Bank of America, we’re committed to addressing the root causes of inequality through a company-wide commitment to advancing racial equality and economic opportunity across diverse communities. We are doing this by building upon our existing efforts and leveraging our strengths: creating more affordable housing and expanding home ownership, increasing lending and support to minority-owned small businesses, championing job training and career readiness and addressing health disparities like access to care. We also know we can’t solve these challenges alone, so we’re partnering with other corporations, local nonprofits and community leaders across the country who share our vision for creating meaningful change.
At Bank of America, we believe in the power of the arts to help economies thrive, educate and enrich societies, and create greater cultural understanding. That’s why we’re helping the arts flourish in communities across the globe.
