Boyd Street Ventures Fund I

One of the country’s few minority-owned venture capital firms, Boyd Street Ventures (BSV) was created to support the economic growth of the State of Oklahoma while generating above average returns for investors by providing both funding and de-risking guidance to Oklahoma-affiliated startups. The firm expects that its model will contribute to building Oklahoma's entrepreneurial ecosystem and allow Oklahoma-based startups to have the financial resources and strategic and operational tools necessary to stay and grow in Oklahoma. The majority of BSV’s portfolio companies come from the ecosystems of the University of Oklahoma or other state universities, from alumni of those schools, or through some other Oklahoma connection.

BSV’s Fund I targets Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A and follow-on investments in five sectors that are strengths of the University of Oklahoma, which has been given the highest rating for research activity by the Carnegie Classification. The five sectors are: Life Sciences, FinTech, Energy Tech, Aerospace/Defense, and Climate Tech. As of June 1, 2023, BSV had invested in 10 companies, several of which it has made follow-on investments in, and expects to make additional investments before the Fund closes. BSV has announced that Fund I has an initial closing date of June 30, 2023 and a final closing date of no later than August 31, 2023.
