Student Leaders

Since 2004, our Student Leaders® program has helped prepare high school students for the workforce by connecting them to skills development and leadership training. Through paid internships with local nonprofits like YMCA of the Triangle, they gain practical work and life experiences. It's just one more way we're working to build a better future for all.

Kari Stoltz | President, Bank of America Triangle

Hear from Kari Stoltz, President of Bank of America Triangle, about our role in keeping the Triangle moving forward.

Let’s build something together

Bank of America has continuously expanded its presence in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill to meet the growing needs of North Carolina’s innovation-focused Research Triangle. To ensure local economic opportunity is extended to all of our neighbors, we have partnered with public and private sector institutions to provide financial literacy, skills development, and job placement programs to those from low-income communities.

To support the region’s underserved entrepreneurs, we offer mentorship and access to funding to Black, Hispanic and women-owned small businesses — leading to additional growth and job creation within our local economy. In addition, we have helped develop inclusive spaces in our neighborhoods and have proudly invested in the area’s arts and STEM initiatives — including an effort to bring dinosaur fossils to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.

“I lost both my legs in combat.
But try telling my heart that.”

Cedric is a veteran from North Carolina and a living example of someone who has overcome great adversity. He has competed in several major marathons, including Boston once before. Cedric is running this year’s Boston Marathon® for Achilles International to transform the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection.

Forging a new path to help others like herself

Unfulfilled in her successful career at a prestigious law firm, Anh LyJordan changed paths and founded Raleigh nonprofit that aims to build a supportive community in for first-gen college grads. Her career as a lawyer hadn’t prepared her for entrepreneurship, however, so in 2020 she enrolled in the Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell.

Even as local businesses reopen their physical locations, consumers continue to rely on technology, and business leaders must invest in digital offerings to strengthen their future.

Being a great place to work has its rewards. And awards.

Because of our investments in industry-leading programs and resources, and our commitment to helping teammates achieve their personal and professional goals, we were awarded the Grand Stevie Award for Organization of the Year. *

* The Stevie Awards recognize the achievements of businesses and professionals worldwide. Organizations self-nominate, providing data for various categories, and winners are determined by the average scores of more than 240 professionals worldwide serving as judges.

** For the annual Rankings, JUST Capital collects and analyzes corporate data to evaluate the 1,000 largest public U.S. companies across 20 issues identified through comprehensive, ongoing public opinion research on Americans' attitudes toward responsible corporate behavior. In determining the top 10 companies for workers, JUST Capital used its Workers Leaders Index which tracks the top 20% of companies in its annual Rankings that perform the best across the five worker related issues evaluated. https://justcapital.com
