David Hulse | President, Bank of America Tallahassee
Hear from David Hulse, President of Bank of America Tallahassee, about our role in keeping Tallahassee moving forward.
Our Tallahassee team integrates a deep local legacy with the advanced resources of one of the world’s leading financial institutions, and we proudly serve as a catalyst for local economic mobility through our philanthropy, volunteerism and engagement of valued consumer and commercial customers across our neighborhoods.
We are committed to helping our communities thrive - dedicating our resources to address the issues that matter most in each community where we live and work.
Now as always, our commitment to help strengthen the communities we serve is unwavering. We’re partnering with local leaders and organizations to advance racial equality and economic opportunity, support diverse and women entrepreneurs, build job skills and create opportunities to help people succeed in today’s and tomorrow’s economy. We’re investing in benefits and resources for our employees who serve our clients in their communities. And we’re doing our part to protect our planet.
Our presence in more than 90 local markets helps us make a difference across the country.
We’re committed to supporting our employees’ health and safety and to addressing our local communities’ most critical needs. That’s why we donated $100 to local hunger-relief organizations for each Bank of America employee in the U.S. who let us know they’ve received a booster shot.
Through this effort, our team in Tallahassee recently presented Second Harvest of the Big Bend with a check for $25,000Footnote*. We’re proud to be able to help our community as we work together to move forward.

Hear from David Hulse, President of Bank of America Tallahassee, about our role in keeping Tallahassee moving forward.
The operation now run by Bank of America in Tallahassee traces its roots back to the early nineteenth century and the first chartered bank in the state of Florida. Today, we are committed to demonstrating leadership in Florida’s capital through charitable giving, sponsorship and volunteerism, which has focused on extending access to healthcare and food security to our neighbors in need.
To further advance economic mobility across our local communities, we also partner with nearby academic institutions and leadership development organizations that provide pathways for young women of color to pursue enriching career opportunities. In addition, we mentor and support small business owners throughout our service areas, as they are pivotal to the continued growth of our local economy.
With a unique program called “Strike in Four,” Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, prepares students to graduate in four years ready to work in high-paying, in-demand professions. Students enrolled in the program benefit from career coaching as they complete their classwork: explore industries that align with their interests, engage in résume-building internships, and master job-search skills — all while earning their diploma within a four-year span that reduces their need for student loans.
At Bank of America, we’re committed to addressing the root causes of inequality through a company-wide commitment to advancing racial equality and economic opportunity across diverse communities. We are doing this by building upon our existing efforts and leveraging our strengths: creating more affordable housing and expanding home ownership, increasing lending and support to minority-owned small businesses, championing job training and career readiness and addressing health disparities like access to care. We also know we can’t solve these challenges alone, so we’re partnering with other corporations, local nonprofits and community leaders across the country who share our vision for creating meaningful change.
