Helping our communities move forward by investing in local programs that address housing, food assistance and jobs skills is delivering on the responsibilities that are core to the values we hold as a company, and as teammates in the neighborhoods we’re fortunate to call home.

Hear from Kurt Walsdorf, President of Bank of America Spokane/Boise, about our role in keeping Spokane/Boise moving forward.

Let’s build something together

As all of us were impacted by the health crisis, we took swift action to protect our communities by partnering with organizations addressing food insecurity, protecting our region’s most vulnerable individuals, providing access to basic needs for our youth, and keeping families in their homes. Food banks were stocked, meals delivered and food and school supply drives organized. We moved quickly to deliver funds to nonprofits that specialize in helping low-income individuals and families find housing solutions, such as mortgage assistance, paying energy bills and making critical home repairs. Ensuring school-age children have the tools they need has never been more important. We're supporting programs that help disadvantaged students by connecting them with resources to achieve academic success including wraparound services addressing mental health. On the jobs front, Bank of America partnered with local organizations to help launch a life sciences incubator to attract homegrown entrepreneurs who will innovate new products at a time when the need couldn’t be more urgent.

Black Future Co-op Fund aims to ignite Black generational wealth, health and well-being

Founded by a group of four nonprofit leaders, all African American women, the Black Future Co-op Fund was inspired by the demonstrations in support of racial and social justice in 2020. The fund aims to support Black-led solutions to community needs throughout Washington. They’re partnering with the Consulting and Business Development Center to ensure these organizations receive the kind of financial support and guidance that can bolster their chance of success.

Meeting the growing demand for a square meal

In the face of the pandemic, Feeding America has seen the need for food assistance rise by 70% across the country. To support our nation’s largest domestic hunger relief charity in providing critical assistance, we gave Feeding America a $1 million grant and more than $15 million to its partner organizations.
