local spotlight
We're committed to supporting our employees' health and safety and to addressing our local communities' most critical needs. That's why we've donated to local hunger-relief organizations on behalf of each employee who received a COVID-19 vaccine or booster and/or a flu shot.* In addition, employees are doubling the impact of their personal donations to fight hunger with our matching gifts program.
Through this effort, our team in Phoenix recently presented St. Mary's Food Bank and United Food Bank with checks totaling $200,000. We're proud to be able to help our community as we work together to move forward.

Now more than ever, we’re focused on helping address the barriers to sustainable employment here in Phoenix. That includes programs supporting our minority communities through a collaborative approach with nonprofits and local colleges. Initiatives are being funded to help expand the talent pipeline through internships, certificate programs and degree pathways. We are also committed to supporting nonprofits that focus solely on helping the homeless, disadvantaged and those facing other barriers to employment find jobs. Our support for small businesses has been steady and unwavering, especially through the health crisis, when we worked tirelessly to administer Paycheck Protection Program funds. We continue to support our amazing local nonprofits addressing hunger and homelessness to ensure our neighbors have what they need in times of need.
We've partnered with Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation (MCCF) to help remove barriers to employment and boost opportunities for students in Phoenix. MCCF recognizes the importance of ensuring that all students from all backgrounds have access to career paths in fields such as information technology, cybersecurity, business, healthcare and advanced manufacturing. To achieve this, they created a program to increase students’ success in degree and certification completion by providing a structured educational model for the Maricopa County Community College District.
Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) applied a $500,000 grant from Bank of America to the Arizona COVID-19 Community Response Fund, which supports nonprofits working to offset the impact of the coronavirus on local communities. In a recent interview, Steve Seleznow, president and CEO of the ACF, discusses the foundation’s support for hundreds of nonprofits throughout Arizona.
