We're always looking for ways to support people's choices in the communities we serve. That's why Bank of America is adding charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) to over 90 financial centers nationwide. For our customers who are interested, we have financing for EVs and charging accessories. And we're also supporting the choices our teammates make with employee rebates on EVs.

Hear from Gene Schaefer, President of Bank of America Miami, about our role in keeping Miami moving forward.
As the gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, Miami has a wonderfully diverse population with an economy deeply rooted in tourism and hospitality, but is also emerging as a technology hub. Our community was hit very hard by the health crisis. We took action by working with partner organizations to offer relief for basic needs and nutrition. We provided solutions for small businesses, from access to capital to webinars that laid out ways to remain resilient and pivot through hard times. As part of Bank of America’s broader jobs initiative to provide economic opportunities to people of color, we've provided grants to local colleges and universities to help students successfully complete the education necessary to enter the workforce and embark on a path to success. Through critical funding to a local hospital, we're helping people gain access to quality healthcare to address the chronic health conditions that plague our low-income communities. Future initiatives are in the works to provide affordable housing for those in need.
Like many colleges across the country, Miami Dade College (MDC) experienced a disruption in its daily operations and mission due to the coronavirus, with enrollment declining by 19.5% in the fall of 2020. While that represents a hardship for students whose college careers have been derailed, a pullback in education also has a ripple effect in local communities and businesses that need skilled, educated workers. But MDC is taking steps to ensure its students still receive opportunities to learn, grow and acquire the tools they need to achieve success.
Local hunger-relief organizations like Feeding South Florida have faced new challenges amidst the coronavirus pandemic to ensure that homes in need continue to have meals on the table. One way they’re doing it is paying farmers to harvest crops despite the lack of commercial demand, and by purchasing directly from distributors.
At Bank of America, we believe in the power of the arts to help economies thrive, educate and enrich societies, and create greater cultural understanding. That’s why we’re helping the arts flourish in communities across the globe.
