We have a broad reach here in Kansas City and we're a community that comes together to support each other in times of need. As part of Bank of America’s broader jobs initiative, we’re supporting workforce development programming including reskilling and upskilling community members for jobs that are in demand with employers.

We support initiatives that prepare unemployed and under-employed women to enter the workforce with skills and confidence by eliminating barriers to success including housing and transportation.

We’re invested in Kansas City’s small business resources that make capital more accessible to entrepreneurs, and we support programming that strengthens the ecosystem of our robust startup community.

The arts are a big part of how Kansas City comes together as a community, and longstanding support of our performing and visual arts scene is a source of pride. Bank of America Celebration at the Station with the Kansas City Symphony attracts 50,000 each Memorial Day weekend to watch a patriotic concert overlooking Union Station. The tribute to active, retired and fallen military is broadcast live and shown on public television across the region.

Expanding opportunity and strengthening communities in Kansas City

Kansas City nonprofits Bridging The Gap and Mattie Rhodes Center are two organizations working to address basic needs and invest in workforce training for individuals and families. For their efforts in the community, they were named 2021 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders®, receiving a $200,000 grant over two years, comprehensive leadership training for the executive director and an emerging leader and more.

At Bank of America, we have a long-standing commitment to support economic opportunity for diverse people and communities.
