Everyday dedication meets everyday appreciation

We continue to invest in our employees with initiatives like Sharing Success, which awarded 96% of colleagues additional compensation this year, nearly all in stock. This is the sixth time teammates received this award, totaling more than $4 billion. We are committed to being a Great Place to Work for our teammates locally and around the globe including providing leading benefits, minimum wage at $22/hr on track to $25/hr by 2025 and opportunities to build a career with us.

Another boost in the fight against hunger in Greater Maryland

We're committed to supporting our employees' health and safety and to addressing our local communities' most critical needs. That's why we've donated to local hunger-relief organizations on behalf of each employee who received a COVID-19 vaccine or booster and/or a flu shot.* In addition, employees are doubling the impact of their personal donations to fight hunger with our matching gifts program.

Through this effort, our team in Greater Maryland recently presented Maryland Food Bank with a check for $75,000. We're proud to be able to help our community as we work together to move forward.

Hear from Janet Currie, President of Bank of America Greater Maryland, about our role in keeping Greater Maryland moving forward.

Let’s build something together

Bank of America’s Greater Maryland presence encompasses the diverse port city of Baltimore and its surrounding communities. For years, we have supported local partners focused on workforce development and job creation within the area’s thriving biotechnology, construction, healthcare, sustainability and manufacturing sectors. We have also supported local HBCUs, such as Morgan State University, as part of our commitment to advancing racial equality and economic opportunity across our neighborhoods.

To empower our local small business community, we provide access to funding, mentorship and training for entrepreneurs in the area. We also champion organizations and knowledge-sharing programs focused on financing, developing and retaining affordable housing across Baltimore and the surrounding region. In addition, we diligently work with community partners to combat food insecurity among our neighbors in need.

Loans that build stronger neighborhoods in Baltimore

Since 1989, Baltimore Community Lending (BCL) has been supporting underserved Baltimore neighborhoods through access to capital. By financing small businesses and entrepreneurs in these neighborhoods, BCL is one of the organizations standing on the front lines of the city’s recovery.

Building homes for life

Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc., or CHAI (Hebrew for “life”), is a Baltimore nonprofit that focuses on housing and community development in neighborhoods connected to the Jewish community. Throughout 2020, when staying connected was critical, CHAI made 7,957 check-in calls to residents to assess their well-being and provide social connections for older adults. Bank of America provides funding for CHAI’s Community Housing Services program, which assists neighborhood residents of all ages with access to affordable housing in a safe environment, enhancing the quality of life for hundreds of seniors and families.
