Let’s build something together

At Bank of America, we make Columbus a better place to live and work by delivering the wide range of the bank’s capabilities. As Market President, I oversee the bank’s work to connect individuals, families, and businesses with resources that make their financial lives better across our region. I’m also charged with strengthening economic opportunity and building strong communities through efforts which are essential to the growth of our local economy. These initiatives, like funding access to healthcare and affordable housing, partnering with nonprofits, and supporting innovative workforce development and job training opportunities, allow us to all come together as neighbors and build a better Columbus.

A beacon for local women

For 135 years, YWCA has worked to educate and empower women, girls and families in Central Ohio. Today, its programs include on-site childcare, job resources and assistance securing affordable housing. For women recovering from addiction or coping with disabilities, its 91-unit YWCA Women’s Residency Program provides long-term housing. For families experiencing homelessness, its 50-room emergency shelter offers a safe place to sleep and three meals a day along with services to help them find permanent housing and jobs that pay family-sustaining wages.

The support women entrepreneurs need to flourish

Female-led businesses are growing fast, but still face stiff headwinds getting off the ground. In an effort to direct more capital to U.S.-based Black and Hispanic/Latino entrepreneurs like Breona Baines, a 27-year-old founder and CEO of Kitticcino Charities in Columbus, OH, microlender Kiva and Bank of America have launched a new Bank of America Loan Fund for Women Entrepreneurs at Kiva, funded by a $1 million commitment from the bank, which matches crowd-funded Kiva loans dollar for dollar.
