Student Leaders

Since 2004, our Student Leaders® program has helped prepare high school students for the workforce by connecting them to skills development and leadership training. Through paid internships with local nonprofits like I Know I Can, they gain practical work and life experiences. It's just one more way we're working to build a better future for all.

Let’s build something together

Across the state of Ohio, Bank of America is focused on addressing the needs of our customers, clients, employees and communities. Each member of our team is here to listen and learn what is most important to our clients. And then we try to help them reach their goals. This past year has been extraordinarily challenging, but we continued to open new retail banking locations and hire talented people to serve our customers’ banking needs, all the while supporting our communities. We’ve partnered with nonprofits that help our neighbors most in need. We’ve provided personal protection equipment for first responders, frontline workers and others to ensure our communities’ safety. Workforce development and skill building, notably in communities of color, continues to be one of our primary areas of support, with career-pathway partnerships at local colleges and nonprofit organizations.

A beacon for local women

For 135 years, YWCA has worked to educate and empower women, girls and families in Central Ohio. Today, its programs include on-site childcare, job resources and assistance securing affordable housing. For women recovering from addiction or coping with disabilities, its 91-unit YWCA Women’s Residency Program provides long-term housing. For families experiencing homelessness, its 50-room emergency shelter offers a safe place to sleep and three meals a day along with services to help them find permanent housing and jobs that pay family-sustaining wages.

DFS Columbus goes mobile to expand reach

Since 2007, Dress for Success Columbus has empowered more than 10,000 women, providing them with resources to put them on a career path towards economic independence. But transportation challenges for clients who reside outside of Columbus prevented many women from attending their appointments. To help, DFS Columbus established the Mobile Career Center, which brings resources to women in need throughout Columbus.
