As an Austin native, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to make our city better for future generations. As Austin President for Bank of America, I’m fortunate to be able to deliver on this by helping our clients improve their financial lives, grow their businesses and providing access to capital that will help our economy continue to grow and enable our community to flourish.

How we’re boosting the fight against hunger in Austin

We’re committed to supporting our employees’ health and safety and to addressing our local communities’ most critical needs. That’s why we donated $100 to local hunger-relief organizations for each Bank of America employee in the U.S. who let us know they’ve received a booster shot.

Through this effort, our team in Austin recently presented Central Texas Food Bank with a check for $40,000Footnote*. We’re proud to be able to help our community as we work together to move forward.

Hear from David Bader, President of Bank of America Austin, about our role in keeping Austin moving forward.

Let’s build something together

As President of Bank of America Austin, I get to focus on the business and societal issues affecting Central Texas. I oversee the bank’s work connecting individuals, families, and businesses to resources that make their financial lives better from San Marcos to Georgetown. Through social responsibility efforts, I’m charged with helping strengthen economic opportunity and building strong communities, which are essential to Austin’s recovery and growth. These efforts, like funding workforce development and education, partnering with organizations like Foundation Communities and PeopleFund, and providing masks to small businesses and child care workers allows us to all come together as neighbors and partners toward a better Austin.

Next Generation Students, First Generation Graduates

For more than 2,000 students across Greater Austin, becoming the first in their families to earn a college degree is even more within their reach. Breakthrough Central Texas makes a 12-year commitment to support sixth grade students in under-resourced communities in their goals of getting to—and through—college. Now, we’re partnering with Breakthrough Central Texas to help prepare those students for post-graduation jobs.

Racial equality and economic opportunity

At Bank of America, we’re committed to addressing the root causes of inequality through a company-wide commitment to advancing racial equality and economic opportunity across diverse communities. We are doing this by building upon our existing efforts and leveraging our strengths: creating more affordable housing and expanding home ownership, increasing lending and support to minority-owned small businesses, championing job training and career readiness and addressing health disparities like access to care. We also know we can’t solve these challenges alone, so we’re partnering with other corporations, local nonprofits and community leaders across the country who share our vision for creating meaningful change.
