What guides us

The goal of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting is to present pertinent information about the global business of Bank of America in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and more than 35 countries and across our eight lines of business. Additionally, we provide ESG information through our annual submissions to the CDP, our 2021 Proxy Statement, our 2020 Annual Report, 2018 ESG Highlights and our online newsroom.

The information found in the 2020 Annual Report and throughout this site is developed by a team across Bank of America’s business lines and corporate functions, which provides an account of Bank of America’s ESG work and business impacts.

Bank of America’s annual reporting on its ESG efforts is informed by well-respected frameworks including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), United Nations Global Compact, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), CDP and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
