A big fan with an even bigger heart: 2019’s Patriots Fan of the Year

Loyalty, passion, service. These and many other qualities exemplify our annual Patriots Fan of the Year. It’s an honor that Bank of America and the New England Patriots look forward to giving out at the end of every season to someone who’s just as passionate about the game as they are about volunteerism and bettering their communities. Let’s meet 2019’s winner: longtime fan and all-round good guy, Alan Centazzo.

Long before Brady and Belichick, there was Alan. He’s braved rain, snow, wins and losses to take in games for over 40 years, and has been a season ticket holder for more than 25. Even a move to Florida couldn’t change that. He now treks 1,500 miles from his home in Delray Beach to Foxborough. Now that’s what we call loyalty.

But Alan’s passion and dedication extend well beyond football. Since 2011, he’s helped raise $100,000+ in scholarships for young people affected by cancer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Beginning with the first Fan of the Year Award in 1987, the Patriots have now presented 33 people with the Joseph R. Mastrangelo Trophy. Join us in congratulating Alan for showing what it means to be a true fan.
