The Patriots and Bank of America are proud to present the Fan of the Year Award

Every year, Bank of America honors a member of Patriots Nation with our annual Fan of the Year award, honoring fans who strive for passion, loyalty, and giving back to the community. This year’s winner, 600+ game attendee Charlie Underhill, embodies all of those values and more.

A season ticket holder for over 50 years, Charlie has been through the highs, the lows, attending three Super Bowls to boot. This milestone is one that secures bragging rights, but it's one Charlie never set out to achieve.

"I never ever gave it a thought. All I knew was the Patriots are playing next week and I’m going," Charlie said.

From all the Patriots moments over the years, Charlie can't quite choose a favorite. More than anything, what he remembers is time with his family.

"One of the best things was doing a lot of tailgating with my father and two brothers and my own sons, that’s a personal thing," Charlie said. "The other side is I don’t think I could really pick out anything outstanding because there are so many of them and it would be unfair to say once is better than another because they’ve all been great.”

Since the first Fan of the Year Award in 1987, the New England Patriots have presented the Joseph R. Mastrangelo Memorial Trophy to 32 fans. Congratulations to Charlie for over 50 years on the front lines of Patriots Nation.
