Assessment of Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Neighborhood Builders® Program

The Bridgespan Group, an advisory firm to nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, conducted an impact evaluation of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Neighborhood Builders® program. The program provides leadership training and unrestricted funding to high-performing nonprofits in 45 communities.
The evaluation shows the impact of the Neighborhood Builders program, which has trained nearly 1,200 leaders in nearly 600 community-based organizations. The investment in leadership helps these organizations more effectively deliver on their mission of making opportunity possible for predominantly low and moderate income individuals.
Neighborhood Builders is the nation’s largest philanthropic investment in nonprofit leadership development—approximately two and a half times the size of the next largest.
