Geoffrey S. Greener | Chief Risk Officer
Geoffrey S. Greener is chief risk officer of Bank of America. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s governance and strategy for global risk management, including relationships with key regulators and supervisory institutions worldwide. Greener is a member of the company’s executive management team.
His team leads enterprise initiatives for managing risk and sustaining a strong risk culture. Greener oversees the development and implementation of risk management measures across both global enterprise and independent line-of-business risk teams. Combined, these teams manage strategic, market, credit, liquidity, compliance, operational and reputational risk matters to support sustainable, profitable corporate growth.
Prior to being named chief risk officer in April 2014, Greener was the company’s Enterprise Capital Management executive where he was responsible for the efficient and proactive management of economic and regulatory capital across the company.
Throughout his career, Greener has served in a number of senior trading and portfolio management roles at Bank of America and other financial institutions. Most recently, Greener was head of Global Markets Portfolio Management where he was responsible for determining the opportunities and risks for trading and capital allocation across the Global Markets platform. He also chaired the Global Markets Capital Committee and the Global Banking and Markets Regulatory Reform Executive Committee.
Prior to joining Bank of America in 2007, Greener was a portfolio manager at Caxton Associates where he specialized in fixed income markets and mortgage-backed securities. He began his career at Goldman Sachs where he worked from 1987 to 1995 trading fixed income products, eventually becoming head of the mortgage derivatives trading desk.
