Grit Ventures is a pre-seed/seed venture investor in Deep Technology. Our strategy is Labs to Launch – sourcing innovation from the nation’s top labs, de-risking by leading early stage rounds and focusing on team development, funding, and go-to-market strategy. Grit focuses on mature and emerging innovation hubs, including Silicon Valley, Austin, Houston, Pittsburgh, Denver, Boston and Los Angeles. We invest in trillion dollar opportunities in real assets and infrastructure in industrial automation, logistics, sustainability and communications.

Founded by Jennifer Gill Roberts, a 30 year Silicon Valley veteran, with deep networks across venture, startups and academia, a strong track record and decades of experience bringing early stage deep technology companies to market. Partner, Christy Cardenas, is based in Austin and brings decades and billions in PE and venture experience across hard tech, real assets and infrastructure.

Grit Labs is our platform for bringing innovators in the university and government labs together with industry partners, entrepreneurial talent and investors to explore market opportunity, commercialize, and build impactful solutions to the world’s biggest challenges. We partner with top universities including; Stanford, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, and UT Austin where we have formalized relationships. We connect early-stage technologies and startups to these important strategic partners through Grit Labs strategic initiatives including our Startup Studio Accelerator Program, University Events and our Fellows Program.
