Brimming With Hope: Bank of America & The BRIMM Support Women Entrepreneurs through Annual Retreat

Kicking off Small Business Month, Bank of America partnered with The BRIMM for their annual retreat in Austin, Texas from April 30-May 3. The BRIMM, a business coaching and mentorship program for women entrepreneurs, shares Bank of America’s mission to educate and elevate women business owners.

A common struggle that women business owners face is accessing capital. As part of event programming, the BRIMM Retreat featured a panel discussion with multiple Bank of America executives sharing business trends and insights, specifically around access to capital. The retreat also provided attendees an opportunity to network with like-minded entrepreneurs, discuss the challenges and solutions of the modern business landscape, and discover essential resources and contacts to position their business for success.

The panel featured remarks from Bank of America’s Carol Lee Mitchell, Head of Small Business Strategy; Liz Romero, Small Business National Client Solution Executive; Jennifer Dooling, Business Banking Regional Executive; and Mike Rogers, Small Business Regional Executive. The group discussed three key resources needed to thrive in business: financial, human & social capital. They also highlighted data from the recently, using the report to break down areas of concern and opportunity among small business owners in the past year. Following the panel, attendees broke out into small group sessions, which allowed for more personal networking connections. Group members were able to meet one-on-one with Bank of America business banking and small business bankers to ask questions and receive personalized advice, while referencing the Small Business Resources for women entrepreneurs and the Bank of America Access to Capital Directory. Afterward, guests were treated to a well-deserved cocktail hour and a one-of-a-kind shopping experience to cap the festivities.

Retreat guests were excited, engaged and eager to grow professional and personal relationships with other attendees and Bank of America bankers and executives. The retreat discussions stressed the importance of a customized plan for banking and business growth, and the welcoming and supportive environment allowed authentic connections for business owners and bankers alike.
