It has been a pleasure to listen, engage and address the needs of our communities and all those we're committed to serving. We cannot do this alone. To make an impact, it requires us to come together and advocate for more change. Future generations are relying on us to set a new path for our communities to thrive. I’m proud to work alongside to help make a difference in Silicon Valley.

Student Leaders

Since 2004, our Student Leaders® program has helped prepare high school students for the workforce by connecting them to skills development and leadership training. Raquel González | President, Bank of America Silicon Valley

Hear from Raquel González, President of Bank of America Silicon Valley, about our role in keeping Silicon Valley moving forward.

Let’s build something together

In Silicon Valley, one of the most innovative and dynamic regions in the country, Bank of America provides comprehensive strategic guidance and financial solutions to individuals, families, small businesses and corporations doing business locally and on a global scale. We share a common purpose: to make financial lives better through a focus on responsible growth and environmental, social and governance leadership. Through these efforts, we’re investing in the success of our employees and helping to develop communities, foster economic mobility and address society’s biggest challenges.

As one of the most ethnically and economically diverse regions in the country, we focus on building diverse teams, supporting career opportunities and creating a workplace that reflects the communities we serve. Community building continues to be one of our top priorities. We’ve accelerated our focus on advancing racial equality and economic opportunity. We’re partnering with public and private sector leaders to drive meaningful change in health care, jobs creation and reskilling the workforce; supporting small businesses; and creating affordable housing, helping address historical, long-term gaps where significant change is required for sustained progress.

Job Skills that Help Narrow the Gap in Santa Clara County

With one of the highest median incomes in the world, Santa Clara County is a successful community—by many standards. Yet that success is not shared among all the city’s residents. Homelessness rose by almost 30%footnote1 during the coronavirus and pay disparity between men and women remains above the national average.footnote2 In partnership with the City of San Jose, San Jose Works seeks to change that by expanding economic opportunity for low-income, homeless and youth job seekers in the region.

Together, they provide skills and career counseling to help locals find jobs, new careers and earn promotions. Participants create individual plans that include a path to living wage employment. Bank of America helps fund San Jose Works’ summer youth employment program, which provides work readiness support, job training, financial education and paid work experiences. The goal is for more members of the community to have successful, long-term careers.
