Hard at Work in Nevada
Bank of America began serving Nevada more than 120 years ago. Nevada’s Bank of Austin opened in 1890, and eventually the Bank of Las Vegas spurred development of the casino industry through lending programs and political advocacy. The University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) benefited from the Nevada Southern University Land Foundation, which helped protect it from real estate price swings. Today, Bank of America is one of the nation’s largest financial institutions and provides services to half of all American households.
