In the years to follow, Duane struggled to find his place in civilian life and began a journey to find out who he was beyond his military identity, while also managing his PTSD. Duane discovered a love for fashion and creation while designing clothing for his wife in their Denver home.

After completing three tours in Iraq, Duane Topping retired from the Army in 2012.
With the support of the Bank of America Veteran Entrepreneur Lending Program and community development financial institution (CDFI) partner Colorado Enterprise Fund, Duane was able to turn his therapeutic outlet into a successful small business.
