Delivering needed medical supplies to Bay Area hospitals and clinics

Silicon Valley Leadership Group and Valley Medical Center are working together to distribute critical resources throughout the region

The Valley Medical Center Foundation in San Jose typically raises money to help three hospitals and eleven clinics in the Silicon Valley health system. When the impacts of the coronavirus began, the group knew that far more health care facilities would need a hand to secure vital resources.

To help, Bank of America provided a $550,000 grant to help boost the scale of their aid efforts. The Valley Medical Center Foundation also partnered with the Silicon Valley Leadership Group to better coordinate donations of medical supplies—including needed ventilators and personal protective equipment for the entire region.

In this video, Foundation CEO Chris Wilder talks about why acting quickly was so important in the face of a potential surge in patients, how partners have stepped up in a big way, and the inspiring wave of donations they’ve received.

Learn more about how Bank of America is backing nonprofits across the country though a $100 million grant program supporting local communities, which is in addition to the $250 million in philanthropy the bank provides annually.
