Hard at Work in Tennessee
Bank of America began serving Tennessee more than 100 years ago. Broadway National Bank of Nashville opened its doors in 1910. German-American Bank was chartered in 1916 and changed names to Commerce Union Bank in 1923. Both of these predecessor banks continued to grow until they became part of the Bank of America family in the early 1990s with the merger of C&S/Sovran and NCNB. Bank of America is one of the nation’s largest financial institutions and provides services to half of all American households.
