Helping families grow

Josh Lyons, a local Senior Relationship Manager with Bank of America, and his wife Sara, adopted their two boys, Jaxson and Jameson, from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2012 after a three-year-long adoption process.

The couple had planned to adopt one child, but fell in love with both boys — then 13 months old. Although not biological brothers, their sons are each now six years old. The Lyons’ family of four — which includes their two dogs — quickly became a family of six.

We are so blessed to have these two boys and give them a great life.

With help from Bank of America’s adoption allowance and paternity leave, Lyons was able to start his family thanks to the bank’s assistance with the early costs, as well as assisting him and his family with insurance before they arrived back home to the United States.

“We are so blessed to have these two boys and give them a great life,” said Lyons.

Lyons, a bank employee since 2009, started the adoption process shortly after joining Bank of America and said he received abundant support from the company and his team throughout the process.

When he’s not at work, Lyons and his family volunteer at Willamette West Habitat for Humanity and the Oregon Food Bank. Lyons and his wife have always enjoyed volunteerism and are now able to share their passion with their children.
