Golden Knights Partner with Bank of America and Three Square Food Bank to Fight Hunger in Las Vegas

This October, Vegas Golden Knights players joined Bank of America employees at Three Square Food Bank to help local families in need. The group worked together at Three Square Food Bank’s expansive warehouse, sorting and repacking donated food to distribute to families struggling with hunger throughout Southern Nevada.

This event coincides with the Give A Meal campaign — the national partnership with Feeding America. Over the past seven years, Give A Meal has provided 600,000 meals to local families.

“Bank of America is proud to partner with Feeding America and our local food bank, Three Square Food Bank, to serve Southern Nevadans struggling with hunger,” said Al Welch, Las Vegas market president, Bank of America. “We are actively fighting to end hunger in our community and strategic partnerships like Give A Meal are helping to make that a reality.”

Approximately one in eight in the local community are food insecure, equating to nearly 271,000 Southern Nevadans (including more than 103,000 children). Bank of America is working with strategic community partners like Three Square Food Bank to drastically reduce those statistics.

Over the past 10 years, Bank of America employees have volunteered thousands of hours and donated the equivalent of more than 1.2 million meals with Three Square. This partnership is just one example of how Bank of America works alongside organizations that are on the ground every day helping to improve people’s lives.

Bank of America has been investing in local and national programs to fight hunger since 2008. In order to provide a comprehensive approach to fight hunger, the bank has mobilized a full array of assets, including philanthropy, volunteerism, fresh food financing and service on local nonprofit boards. Beyond these activities, Bank of America has raised public awareness of the issue of hunger through various communications, marketing and sponsorship channels.
