San Antonio is home to 1,000 local Bank of America employees and is also the company’s headquarters for its military banking division across the world. Vince Fertitta was recently promoted to San Antonio market president and is looking to improve the market’s business integration and community efforts.
In addition to his role as San Antonio market president, Fertitta serves as market executive for Merrill Lynch’s Lone Star Market, covering nine offices across Texas and Arizona. Prior to this role, he served as the market executive in Chicago. A Texan native, he welcomed the opportunity to return to his home state as it allows him to spend more time with his family.
Since taking over the role of market president in April 2016, Fertitta has been focused on reinforcing the bank’s commitment to serving its clients. His vision for the market is to strengthen relationships between the lines of businesses, and encourage best practice sharing.
Fertitta sees growth opportunities in healthcare, small business, cybersecurity, technology and the historical preservation of San Antonio. He also sees a growing focus on international business as more companies move to San Antonio. For customers, Fertitta believes that the company’s suite of services can help client’s run the entire lifecycle of their business with its U.S. trust wealth management to business banking services.
As for ways to continue the bank’s great work in the community, Vince hopes to continue to grow and build relationships with local organizations and partners to further the bank’s impact and find ways to continue to support the local community.
Overall, Vince is passionate about prioritizing the people the bank serves – one that focuses on the people and creating an environment where collaboration and building relationships is celebrated. As a leader, he’s learned the importance of maintaining his authenticity and continuing to prioritize people - whether it's his family or Bank of America employees – and taking that extra step for a human, personal connection.
A family man himself and as the coach to his son’s football team, Vince encourages Bank of America employees to devote time to their families, and to find a way to create a manageable work-life balance.
